The Importance of Having a Consistent Posting and Linking Strategy

Do you ever wonder why some of your blog posts get more traffic than others? Want to now a tried and proven way to get more consistent blog traffic for every post? Will having a written plan for exactly what you do with you new blog post help you?

Opportunity and traffic will not come knocking for you, you need to go knocking for it. Not to say that everyone once in a while you will hit the jackpot and your article will go to the top of Tumblr or StumbleUpon, this is not the norm and is not to be expected on a consistent basis. In fact, many times in the beginning you may feel like absolutely no one is reading what you are writing, this is why you need to write for you and what you love. If your not doing it for you, you ultimately will not be happy, no matter how much money you make.

One important thing I learned to do when I was publishing a new blog post was to have a consistent and thought out strategy as the where I was going to post the article and how I was going to get other sites to link to it. The easiest way to do this is for you to sit back and say, if I am like myself, where am I going to look for the information I am posting about, then form a plan, write it down and start to execute it. Trying to keep what you plan on doing in your head does not work, you will forget, you must write down the exact steps you want to do and follow them every time. Doing this actually makes the process faster because you are just following directions at that point.

Below is a quick example of one of my new blog article posting strategies.

  • Go to my Google+ Community
  • Select the sub-category I want to post in on my Google+ Community Page
  • Enter the text or image I want to push out to my Google+ Network

  • Then I go to my Pinterest Community
  • Select the sub-category I want to post in on my Pinterest Community Page
  • Enter the text or image I want to push out to my Pinterest Network
  • I place the link from my recent Google+ post in my Pinterst details section of the post, this way my Pinterest Network has the ability to naturally interact and help grow my Google+ Community

  • Then I go back to my original Google+ Community post and edit the details
  • I then post the link from my recent Pinterest post in the details of my recent Google+ post
  • I do this strategy with all my primary social networks

My goal is not to link blast, my goal is to naturally create an environment in which people that come across what I am posting, can grab it on the main social network or media outlet in which they are most comfortable. By the way, link blasting is not a good strategy, be authentic to your network and yourself, don't try and cheat the SEO systems, you will not win and you will just look like you don't know what you are doing.

Listen, this is not perfect, I am open to new ideas and anything that works for you that you are willing to share with me, this is my effort to do the best I can with what I have in front of me at this point in time.
